It’s all happening this month at Gym 72. So here’s your latest update…
Step up to the streets! How many steps are you actually doing each day, and is it enough? You might already know, but 10,000 steps is a good target if you want to be considered an active person, which I’m sure you do. Our recent step competition using the app Pacer, saw regular Gym 72’er Alex shine above the rest with a daily average of 25,000+ steps per day… very impressive Alex!
Now we’re taking the walking to the next level. With our first organised Gym 72 walk. All comers are more than welcome to join. We’re starting with a light, social walk around Hollingworth lake. The walks will gradually intensify so it gives you just enough time to bed in your walking boots.
Helen Keller famously said “walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light. Lucky us… we’ll be walking in the light with friends. So expect a lot of fun!
We are also starting to introduce low tempo classes over the next couple of months. The first being lunchtime Yin Yoga. A traditionally floor based yoga class with a primary focus on facia release and joint mobility. This is great for maintenance of the joints and perfect for all ages and abilities. After work Pilates is also coming soon. If you’re lucky enough, you might read about it in the next Gym 72 newsletter.
